What is super?
Superannuation is like a pension fund.
Once you earn over $450 per month it is a requirement for your employer to pay 9.5% of your wage into a super fund for you. We can help you get it back when you leave Australia.
How do I get a super refund?
To be eligible for a refund of your Super you need to have left the country and have your visa expired or cancelled (we can help you do this). Claiming your super back doesn’t stop you returning to Australia and working again.
You are able to apply for a refund directly with your Super Fund, this would be facilitated by the ATO- but they don’t make it easy! We’ve helped thousands of travelers get their refunds and can walk you through the process step by step to ensure you get the refund you deserve.
To get a super refund, complete the form above and read the instructions about the documentation you to need to have. If you are still in Australia it’s a good idea to get a certified copy of your passport photo page before you go.
How much will I get back?
Your employer paid 9.5% of your wages into a Super fund. The government will take 38% of your money when you withdraw it and they taxed it at 15% when it got paid in. Our fee is 11% (minimum of $99). Generally we recommend you apply for your Super return if you’ve earned $5000 or more. If you have over $5,000 in any fund you’ll need to also get an immigration status certificate- we will walk you through this as well.
How long will it take to get my super refund
Once we apply for your super refund your super fund has 28 days to respond, we check all your documents are in order before we send them which results in most Super refunds coming back within a couple of weeks.
