Medicare Exempt? You could get more tax back!
Medicare Levy What’s That?
When people work in Australia and earn over $20,896 they will be charged what’s called Medicare Levy- this Levy covers the cost of Australian health care.
How do I claim this additional refund?
If you are from a country which does not have a reciprocal health agreement with Australia you should be eligible to not pay the levy.
You will know you are from one of these countries if you were not able to get a Medicare Card whilst your were here.
To get your hands on this additional money, you need to hit the button below, print out and complete the form and post it off…
What you need to include in your application:
- Completed application form (we have already answered some questions for you)
- Print out of your visa confirmation email from immigration – if you had multiple visas please include all of them.
- Certified copy of your passport (photo page and all Australian arrival stamps). Take a photo copy of the relevant pages and bring the passport and the copy to a police station, library, local council or our Shop and ask for JP to certify the copies.
Please put the above documents in an envelope and post them to:
